One of my close friends is super into Tiktok and Instagram, she records literally everything we do. at first i thought it was funny but then i started noticing she’ll post clips where i don’t look great, or i’m in the background doing something embarrassing, and i don’t even know until someone else sends it to me. I told her once that i’d rather she ask before posting me and she brushed it off. she thinks thats totally fine since nobody even notices me in the videos. but i do. it makes me feel uncomfortable knowing there are random people watching clips of me that i never agreed to. The other day she filmed us at lunch and i asked her not to post it. She just ignored me and posted it anyway. it just made me shut down because it feels like she doesn’t respect what i’m asking. I know social media is her thing and she probably doesn’t see it as a big deal but i dont think she has a right to post me on social media without my permission.
