I work at a shop downtown and there are only 3 parking spaces for my little shop in the lot. In all of our 3 parking spaces we have signs saying parking for our customers only. All other cars will be towed at the owners expense. There was a car (a nice expensive BMW) parked in one of our spots on one of our busy nights. I went to the shops next to ours and asked if the car was theirs or any of their customers. Both places said “no”. One of the places, let’s say Shop B, responded with “no, no my customers know where to park.” I texted my general manager and let him know what was going on. I then called the towing company. When the towing company arrived on site, customers from shop A stopped the truck before it touched the car. The shop owner of shop A announced on the PA system asking if the car was anyone’s. No one responded. The tow truck then took the car. About two hours later the owner from shop B came into my shop asking if we called a tow truck on their customers car. He walked out the door when I said we called a tow truck. The owner of shop B then proceeded to call the owner of my shop and yell at him saying that I did wrong and towed his customers car. The owner of my shop is also the property owner (who is never on site). My owner then calls me yelling at me through the phone. Saying things “did you call a tow truck? Did you call a tow truck?” And “Now I have an angry tenant.”I began explaining to him what had happened and that I already spoke to the general manager. His tone changed from yelling to just talking. I kept telling him the person never walked into our store and has never bought anything from us before. The car was sitting there for over an hour and other customers couldn’t park there. It was a busy night for us. The owner of shop B then calls a mutual friend of ours telling him that I screwed up and called a tow truck. This “friend” has nothing to do with the situation. The “friend” calls my boyfriend (who has nothing to do with my store) and calls him an a**hole for towing a car. My boyfriend told him I was just doing my job, which I was. That “friend” then calls me multiple times and messages me calling me an a**hole for towing the car. AITA?
