We have two dogs, hers is a huge pit bull (that I’m literally allergic to), and mine, which is tiny, likes her own little dog bed and I’m not allergic to her thankfully. I didn’t mind her getting the dog, she loves that thing to death just like any dog owner would. She’s a sweet thing but she’s HUGE, and unfortunately I get allergy attacks anytime I come in contact with her hair. Since the dog is so big that she takes up most of a queen bed (when she stretches out laying which she always does) and my allergies which truly make me suffer? AITA for constantly requesting that she not let her dog on the bed because she keeps disrespecting that boundary?? I know dog owners like to cuddle with their pups, but it’s our bed that gets covered with hair, I get overheated, pushed off the bed, and get allergy attacks, and the gf gets mad every time I ask her not to allow it, making the accusation of me being “controlling”. I literally let her do whatever she wants, but it’s this one thing she hates and completely disrespects. Dog also constantly tears up blankets, including one that’s very important to me that I’ve had since I was 6. So again, AITA here? Seems like a pretty reasonable boundary to me especially when you take my allergies into consideration.
