So just to get some context. I live on the East Coast and then currently moving back to the Midwest for work. I am still working full-time. I am single and really have no friends out here to take care of my house if I was just up and leave. My mother was diagnosed with cancer last year and my sister who is much closer to her has been taken care of her. Her cancer is believed to be back by my sister. We have no medical confirmation of this. My sister called me demanding that I go take care of her but again I am literally in the middle of the move and if I don’t get out to my new destination within 30 days, I lose my job. I told her that I was not able to do this because of the aforementioned Reason I have a lot of complex feelings about this but mostly I’m just trying to make sure I’m not the asshole for saying no. And just so everyone is aware, my mother lives in Colorado I live in Jersey and my sister lives in South Dakota .
