Throwaway. I (22F) have a degree in animation. There aren't a lot of work opportunities in my country, so I've been working as an accountant for my mother-in-law. About a month ago, my co-worker mentioned that her friend (24M) creates video games, and needs an assistant. He cannot afford to pay for my help, but my mother-in-law offered to pay me on behalf of him. He wants me to 3D model an intricate Iron Man-like suit. I can totally do that. But when he sent me the references, I realised they're all AI generated. The details are inconsistent, the proportions are wrong, there are lines that shouldn't be there, and I'm having such a hard time making this thing. And thinking about the bigger picture, if this video game does get published, I don't want my name tied to a project that made use of AI, because it's something I'm strongly against. Would I be the asshole if I stepped down from this project? I did tell him I could do this, I got his hopes up, but that was before I realised the references are AI and impractical. I'm also worried about damaging my relationship with my co-worker.
