I (31F) went to a wedding this weekend and saw a former friend from college “Liz” (20something F) we were sat at the same table with other college friends. I’m a fashion freak and I know everything about fashion and designers so I almost went crazy when Liz put her bag on a table and I recognized it as a Hermes Kelly Picnic, I’m not being mean but there is no way she (or anyone at that wedding not even me) could afford a $100.000+ bag. I ask her if I could see it and I immediately could see it was clearly fake, mostly by the style of the wicker and bad stitching. I ask where she got it, she says her boyfriend got it for her as a present for her upcoming trip to Italy since the bag looked “hard to pickpocket”. I told her if she knew the bag was a fake Kelly, and she says she only knows her bf got it on Amazon. I told her there is no way in hell she could go to Italy with a fake Hermes on her shoulder. She said she didn’t mind. My bf slightly kicked my leg to shut up, and back home he told me I shouldn’t have “pestered” her about the bag, but I didn’t want her to think the bag was real and then get disappointed if people LITERALLY IN ITALY make fun of her or make comments about her bag. She speaks fluent Italian so she would know.
