my distant friend and i are on vacation together (i’m close with her mom and aunt, Laila F18, and me being F19). her brother gifted her a vacation for her birthday and graduation with the invite also going to me because we have travelled together often in the past due to her aunt. there is a lot of backstory, but due to character limits, i’ll only say she has crossed many boundaries with exes and boyfriends with me 9/10 times. we decided to try tinder double date while we were on vacation and found a match but one guy wasn’t back home yet. one guy offered to show us around and buy us dinner in the meantime. we met up with Guy, M25, and he showed the most interest in me, but also she was giving mixed signals. i was trying to break the ice and get to know him while Laila sat in the backseat being uncomfortable. he ended up driving us around for the day. we are underage here so he got me drinks. he and i were hitting it off but he wasn’t closing himself off to Laila either, which is fair. he later admitted to thinking there would be action between three of us, but felt the most connected with me. he ended up back at our hotel room and we had a couple more drinks before cuddling in my bed. he invited Laila over and she joined, but i noticed him get touchy with just me. he started to eyeball the bathroom and asked me if i’d want to shower with him. he asked Laila if that’d be okay and she ended up saying, “i don’t care what you do, just leave me out of it.” fair! i thought it was overstepping too, and Laila got up and said, “You guys can have the whole room actually,” and closed herself in the dark bathroom. we both thought that is not right and he told her to at least trade us and she insisted no it was fine. he started to get ready to leave until she got up and said we can have the shower. we both thought he should go at this point because it had gotten excessively weird. she then insisted he stayed and we just use the shower. although awkward, he made sure it was okay and that it wouldn’t be weird if we did this. she confirmed in such a sincere way that i let him follow through with showering with me. when the water shut off, Laila comes up to the door asking, “My turn?” Guy was through and pushed it off until he ended up cuddling me with her on the other side of me. she kept asking and joking about when he’d be ready until he fell asleep cuddling me. she woke up pissed. all day, i tried to talk to her but she has totally shut down conversations to be 5 sentences MAX. i understand that i was selfish in some ways, but am i crazy? she texted the group chat between the three of us making moves on him. he ended up admitting to me he would, but he doesn’t want me to lose respect for him. seems to me he’s still debating. i told him we are adults and things happen, but i can’t tell him my feelings about it. AITA for taking advantage of this trip? where did i mess up?
